What we do with your details.

This is a volunteer community campaign. We hold as little as we can, we use it for one thing, and we never pass it to anyone else.

What we collect

When you add your name, we store:

  • Your name, so the signature means something.
  • Your postcode, so we can show where support is concentrated and answer an MP or councillor who asks whether signatories are their constituents.
  • Your email address, only if you give one. It is optional.
  • Anything you write in the comment box.
  • Whether you asked to be shown publicly or to sign anonymously.

What is shown in public

On the signature wall we publish your name and the district of your postcode only — SE15, not SE15 3XX. If you sign anonymously your name is removed on our server before the list is ever sent to a browser, so it is not simply hidden from view.

Your email address, your comment and your full postcode are never published.

What we use it for

Demonstrating public support for reopening Nunhead Reservoir to Thames Water, Southwark Council, and local elected representatives. That is the only purpose.

If you ticked the updates box, we will also email you occasionally about the campaign. Nothing else, and never anything commercial. Signing does not subscribe you to anything on its own.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent or share your details with anyone.
  • Pass them to a political party.
  • Add you to an unrelated mailing list.
  • Use advertising or analytics trackers on this site.

Cookies and tracking

We count visits, so we can tell whether the campaign is reaching anyone. That is the only thing we measure. There are no advertising cookies, no remarketing tags and nothing that follows you to other sites, and you can switch the counting off in one click using the button in the bottom-right corner of any page.

Videos are shown as a still image until you press play, so nothing is requested from Google unless you choose to watch. The same is true of the translation feature in the accessibility menu. The cookie page lists every cookie by name and explains why there is no cookie banner.

If you press a share button we record only which platform was used — never who you are.

How long we keep it

For as long as the campaign is running. If it ends, or if the reservoir reopens, the list is deleted.

Removing your details

Email [email protected] and ask. We will remove you, and you do not have to give a reason. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
