π―Campaign Goals
Our Vision for Nunhead Reservoir
Short-Term Goals: Pre-booking to ensure a safe number of attendees
Quarterly Open Days: We'd like to unlock the gates of Nunhead Reservoir four times a year, once each quarter, to share its beauty with the community.
Spring Day: Burst into bloom with nature walks and bird watching.
Summer Celebration: Enjoy long summer days with picnics and outdoor games.
Autumn Colours: Capture the golden hues with guided walks and photography.
Winter Stars: Wrap up warm for stargazing and educational talks.
Wellbeing Days: We want to boost the community's health with:
Activities like yoga, painting, and kite flying to relax and unwind.
Astronomy classes to marvel at the night sky
Site Clean-Up: Prior to each open day, letβs tidy up together. A community clean-up will:
Remove hazards like glass and litter, making the Reservoir safer for everyone.
Strengthen the bond between Thames Water, local residents, and the broader community.
Long-Term Goals:
Securing the Reservoir: Ensuring that our water source remains protected, clean, and secure.
Regular Public Access: Our aim is to make Nunhead Reservoir as welcoming as Greenwich Park, with set opening times for daily enjoyment.
Solutions:
Collaborative Management: Establishing a local committee to manage the Reservoir's access and upkeep, in partnership with Thames Water.
Infrastructure Investment: Adding amenities like bins and benches for comfort and cleanliness.
Ongoing Dialogue: Maintaining communication with authorities to align on how best to manage public access while keeping the Reservoir secure.
Join us in transforming Nunhead Reservoir from a fenced-off area to a thriving hub of community life and natural beauty.
Together, we can make it a space that's safe, clean, and open for all to enjoy.
